We source the search volumes for all keywords from Google Ads, and aggregate the close variations the same way Google Ads does (more about aggregation here).
When you see different search volumes for the same keywords in different campaigns/groups you need to check the following aspects.
First, you’d need to check that the website you are monitoring is not a draft campaign.
These only show the data for the day the keywords were added – unlike a tracked campaign, where the search volume is always the latest one.
The next step is to make sure that both campaigns are being monitored on the same search engine and that they both share the same location characteristic.
If they share the same search engine and/or they are both localized projects, the following situation applies:
when you add new keywords to a campaign or a group, we pull fresh data from Google Ads right away,
while for the tracked keywords, we start updating their search volumes when Google starts offering fresh Ads data for the keywords (usually in the second half of the month, for the previous month).
With all of these aspects checked, you should see consistent search volumes for all keywords that match with Google Ads keyword Planner, across your campaigns. If it’s not any of the cases above, and you still find a search volume discrepancies, please contact our Customer Service team for further checks.
